Land IQ continuously provides multiple internship opportunities for current students
and recent graduates possessing skills in our areas of expertise. Interns are a key component of our team at Land IQ, providing essential support in field boundary delineation and data collection in the field that lead to our high accuracies in land use mapping. Some of our team members are heading back to school this fall, so we are seeking new interns to fill our group. Click here to view the announcement.
Our summer intern team includes:
Hannah Mone
Hannah is a current Master of Science student in the Environmental Policy and Management Program at UC Davis. She previously attended the University of Georgia where she studied biology and ecology. Her interests lie in the intersection of environmental science to policy and management decision making, specifically involving water and ecological restoration. During her time as an intern at Land IQ, she has enjoyed the opportunity to gain GIS skills which are important for environmental problem-solving and planning for a changing climate.
Blake Cole
Blake recently graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with a degree in Environmental Earth and Soil Sciences, concentrating in Hydrology. He is originally from Simi Valley and enjoys watching and playing soccer as well as fishing. He is very much looking forward to learning anything and everything Land IQ has to offer.
Lucas Kaufmann
Lucas was born and raised in Iowa and is currently pursuing a MA in Geography at the University of Northern Iowa. His thesis is focused on researching the impacts of land use and climate on grassland bird species in the upper Midwest. His experience at Land IQ has been an amazing opportunity to learn skills within the fields of GIS and land use mapping and has given him a lot of insights into the unique landscapes and ecosystems in California. Lucas will be wrapping up his graduate program next spring and is looking forward to using the skills he learned in school and at Land IQ as he starts his career as a GIS and geospatial professional.
Larimar Cannon
Larimar received an A.A. degree in Social Sciences from American River College and is currently seeking an undergraduate degree in Forestry Restoration and Conservation at Cal Poly Humboldt with a completed minor in Geospatial Analysis. She is graduating this fall and has experience with forestry restoration and silvicultural related practices/projects.
Rhona McChesney
Rhona is currently a student at UCLA studying Environmental Science and GIS. She is originally from Bishop, and spends most of her free time hiking, climbing, and hanging out with her dog. This is her first summer in Sacramento and she is looking forward to exploring and learning more about the area!
